It was also surprisingly affordable compared to other spa experiences I’ve had.

So if you’re looking for a way to unwind during your budget-friendly winter travels, don’t overlook the therapeutic benefits of soaking in natural hot springs. As much as I enjoyed my time at these thermal baths, there’s another destination that stands out as one of my top travel experiences: Vietnam.

After a few days of soaking up the sun and letting my worries fade away on Bali’s beautiful beaches, I was ready to explore more of what this stunning island had to offer. So, I decided to venture inland and visit some of the famous temples and rice terraces.

First, I made my way to Tanah Lot Temple, located on a small rocky island just off the coast. As I walked along the path that led to the temple, I couldn’t help but feel in awe of its breathtaking beauty. The waves crashed against the rocks below while the sun began to set behind it. It was truly a sight to behold.

After taking in all that Tanah Lot Temple had to offer, I headed out to Ubud to see some of Bali’s most famous rice terraces. The Tegalalang Rice Terrace was absolutely incredible with its tiered fields and lush greenery stretching out as far as the eye could see.

As we bid farewell to the lively nights in Jakarta, let’s head over to Colombia where warm weather awaits us along with some breathtaking scenery.

You’ll love exploring Colombia in December, with its colorful streets and vibrant culture. The weather might be rainy, but that just adds to the lush greenery and breathtaking scenery. There are plenty of festivals and events happening throughout the month, including the famous Feria de Cali dance festival.

Take a stroll through Medellin’s Christmas lights display or visit Bogota’s historic La Candelaria district for some delicious street food. Aside from the festive activities, Colombia is also home to stunning natural wonders such as Tayrona National Park and Cocora Valley. I highly recommend taking a hike up to see the towering wax palms or lounging on one of Tayrona’s many pristine beaches.

With its affordable prices and friendly locals, Colombia is certainly worth considering for your next budget-friendly adventure. As much as I loved my time in Colombia, it was time to move on to another destination: Romania. Despite being less popular than other European countries like France or Italy, Romania boasts incredible historic architecture and picturesque towns nestled in the Carpathian Mountains.

If you’re looking for a hidden gem in Europe with stunning mountain scenery and historic charm, Romania is a must-visit destination. From the picturesque medieval town of Sighisoara to the Gothic architecture of Brasov, Romania’s rich history and vibrant culture make it an enchanting place to explore.

The Carpathian Mountains offer breathtaking vistas and outdoor adventures like skiing, hiking, and wildlife watching. One of the highlights of my trip was visiting Dracula’s castle in Bran. While it may not be the actual home of Vlad the Impaler, it still has a fascinating history and impressive architecture.

And if you’re a foodie like me, be sure to sample traditional Romanian dishes like sarmale (stuffed cabbage rolls) or mici (grilled ground meat). Overall, Romania offers an unforgettable travel experience at an affordable price point for those seeking adventure off the beaten path.

With its bustling markets and intricate tilework mosques, Morocco is another budget-friendly destination worth exploring.
