The idea of exploring new cultures, trying different foods, and seeing the world in all its beauty has always been a dream of mine. However, as someone who doesn’t have an endless supply of money, traveling can seem like an impossibility at times.
But fear not! There are plenty of stunning destinations in Europe that won’t break the bank. From the vibrant streets of Budapest to the historic city center of Krakow, there’s no shortage of affordable and breathtaking places to visit.
So if you’re craving a change of scenery but don’t want to sacrifice your savings account, keep reading for my top picks on cheap and beautiful places to travel in Europe.
Budapest, Hungary
If you’re looking for a cultural hotspot with stunning architecture, Budapest is the perfect destination to add to your itinerary. This city has something for everyone, from historical landmarks like Buda Castle and Fisherman’s Bastion to relaxing thermal baths like the famous Széchenyi Spa. The Danube River runs through the heart of Budapest, separating Buda and Pest, making it easy to explore both sides of the city.
One of my favorite things about Budapest was how affordable it was compared to other European cities. I could easily find delicious meals for under 10 euros and spend an entire day at one of the thermal baths for less than 20 euros. Plus, there are plenty of free activities such as walking tours and visiting beautiful churches like St. Stephen’s Basilica. If you’re on a tight budget but still want to experience all that Europe has to offer, Budapest should definitely be on your list!
Now let’s move onto another amazing European destination – Krakow in Poland.
Krakow, Poland

Aside from exploring the city’s historical landmarks, there are also other activities that you can do here such as trying out local cuisine or visiting one of the many museums in Krakow.
